It's a damn good question... :-)
Well, I began my PhD course in the Biophysics department, six years ago... And since I saw that nobody in the world was able to give a good
definition of this mystical matter, searching on Google there wasn't any resource that could make clear what Biophysics was, I decided to
create a website helpful for everybody interested on knowing something about this field. I developed the classical Flash animated intro (it
was very cool and original, six years ago...), and I linked some scientific papers, with the will to increase the linked papers as my
knowledge of biophysics increased.
After one month in that department, I understood that my PhD was only marginally about biophysics, it would have dealt mostly with
Nanotechnologies (a even larger matter). But now the domain was that one, and I didn't want to change it for no reasons! As time passed,
some people told me that all the scientific papers that were easily available on the University network weren't free of copyright, and I
couldn't publish them so easily. After few more months, to avoid legal issues, I left only the flash intro (now completely unuseful) and I
used the webspace to backup my personal data.
When I decided to improve my photographic skills, I began to post photos in forums, ask opinions to friends and colleagues... And since it
was a long time since I didn't write any code (I missed programming!), I choose to use my website to publish my photos, and collect
suggestions, opinions, insults, teachings and whatever.
Thank you for stopping by.
